Hey everyone!
Over the past weekend, I was out shopping (which I still need to show you my purchases). However, I have been looking for a new face moisturizer... well, pretty much a new face care line. I currently have been using LaRoche Posay, which is amazing btw, but I need to switch it up every so often because my face will just get used to the products and that's not always a good thing.
Since I'm 29 years old, and 30 is just around the corner, I need to be using anti-aging products as well as hydrating products, for both my face and my eyes. Tres important! I need to avoid those fine lines and wrinkles and keep them to a minimum!!!!
Anyhow, I was browsing through the Kiehl's store at the mall, and I started talking to the sales girl. Her and I are the same age, and her skin looks fantastic!!! Even though she works there, and sells the product, I found her to be pretty honest with me in terms of what I was looking for.
She recommended the Abyssine line to me.
I have read amazing reviews about this line from Kiehl's. It's an anti aging line, which is light (because I hate heavy face creams), good for my sensitive skin, and also can be used morning and night... Tres amazing!!!
The only bad thing, is that it doesn't have SPF, but I have been using an SPF from LaRoche Posay, so I don't mind if the Kiehl's moisturizer doesn't have it, I would rather have a great product that I can use morning and night. I don't like to spend a lot of time slathering on products.
This cream has a really nice, creamy consistancy.
It also doesn't have a strong scent either... BONUS!!!! I hate those strong smelling creams.. yuck!
I have been using this for a couple of days, and already my skin feels baby bum soft!!!! I love that it's such a light cream, but hydrates and minimizes those lines and wrinkles that I'm worried about. I will see what happens after about a month, but my skin hasn't reacted to it, so that already tells me that this is a keeper!
I also got a few free samples from this same line...
I got the Abyssine Eye Cream and the Abyssine Serum for your face. I have tried a sample of the eye cream, and I remember that I absolutely LOVED it!!! I was using my old stuff, and I have wanted to invest in the eye cream, but since I have so much of my other stuff left, the sample size is perfect for now. I got a few of them, so that will give me a chance to use it longer than a week. It's also a creamy consistancy. It's very light, and it goes on like silk!
The serum that she gave me from this line, is to be used before the moisturizer. It's not necessary, but it's an extra boost for brightening and stuff like that. Maybe it gives an extra Baby Bum softness!!! LOL..
Anyhow, I am excited that I invested in this new cream. I think my skin was ready for something new. The moisturizer was about $56, but when I went, there was a "no tax" thing going on that day, so it was $56... it's also a 50ml pot, and you only need a small amount, so I can see this lasting quite a long time. I don't like paying too much for products, but when they are great quality and last awhile, then it's definitely worth every penny!
Has anyone tried this line? If so, let me know if you love it, or tossed it!
Hope everyone has a fab night!!!
xoxo

Skincare: My face LOVES Origins
Hey everyone!
I'm happy to say that I had a partial day off from work today. I am training in a new department at work so that I can gain some new experience since I will be covering a co-worker's vacation next week. I only went in for a couple of hours today, but so far, I really liked it. Hopefully next week will go smoothly without me screwing something completely up!!! Oh gosh!!!
I had a great rest of the day with puppy and avery. We went for a walk, raked the grass to TRY to get rid of puppy's pee areas. He hasn't quite gotten the "lift the leg" part yet, so *praying* that he learns soon because my poor grass :( It's ok though, that all part of having a pooch around right? P.S Does anyone know the age that male pups are supposed to stop squating? Puppy is about 11 months now and everyday I try to take him to a post and lift his leg to try and get him to pee!!! Come on PUPPY!!!!
So.... I really really really have to tell you about a skincare line from a company called Origins. This company creates skincare made by all natural ingredients, plant based and organic. No harsh chemicals and environmentally friendly. Attention caught!!!
O.M.G my skin has fallen in love with this line. When I was at Yorkdale Mall, I went browsing through and came across the Origins wall of goodies. Other than blogger, tiffanyd mentioning it on her youtube blogs, I never really heard about this stuff. I decided that instead of buying something raw without trying it, I would see if they could possibly spare a free sample of any ole thing.
Um.....to my suprise, I got samples of almost their whole line. I told the girl who helped me (sweetest little thing ever!) what my skin type was and my concerns. She knew exactly what would work for me and literally started running around filling up sample bottles for me. All the samples I got have lasted me 4 days so far and it's only half way used. Impressed!!!
Here's what my little skin guardian angel picked out for me...love her!!!!
Cleanser: Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser (for oily and acne prone skin)
This cleanser is amazing. It really deep cleans your face without drying it out too much. I don't have acne, but I do break out quite a bit.. Plus, I'm combination skin, so I'm definitely oily on my T-Zone which SUCKS!!! This is an awesome cleanser. It was very refreshing and had a nice clean re-freshing smell. I have been usin this at night when I wash my make up off. Works like a charm!!! Yay for acne fighting cleansers!!
Exfoliator: Modern Friction Gentle Microdermabrasion
This is by far... the BEST exfoliator I have ever used!!! Sadly to say, I think I may actually like this exfoliator better than the Clinique 7 day scrub (sorry Clinique).. After you cleanse, you dry your face, squeeze out the product and rub in a cirular motion all over your face (without water). Incredible!!!!!!! My face felt flawless, my pores felt smaller, my blackheads fell out and most of all... The little bumps I have on my face vanished!!! I'm officially IN LOVE.... that's right people, caps lock!!!! When you rinse this off your face, the product starts to foam and you get an even deeper clean. I can't wait to order the full size of this!
After the amazing exfoliating experience, the next product to use was a mask. It was called Clear Improvements
This mask literally has a 5 star rating. It's Origins top mask pick. This is another product I have come to adore alongside my LUSH "Honey Brazed" mask. This really digs out the dirt and grime from inside your pores. The charcoal is like a magnet to draw out pore cloggers. The clay absorbs environmental toxins to allow skin to actually breathe. Do you take visa??? LOL...Amazing mask. It's also like a dark grey/black color so it looks really cool when its on. Puppy was a little scared, so I don't recommend mother's using this mask around there kiddies...lol
After washing off the mask with warm water, since it was night time, she gave me a night time moisturizer to try just for using at night before bed. It's called High Potency Night-A-Mins Moisture Cream
This night moisturizer is so packed with vitamins (B,C,E and A). It also has exfoliating extracts too! It is supposed to repair damage for a beautiful and radiant complexion!!! This smells amazing!!! If you love the smell of fresh oranges, you will want to eat this!!! The smell alone will just have you feelin brighter and happier at every sniff...This is everything that you need in a night time moistuizer. Your skin rebuilds itself when you sleep. This gives you all the necessary vitamins that will just melt into your skin and give it what it deserves... A BMW feeling, instead of a beat up, old, stinky car. You also don't need much of this at all, so it lasts months and months!!! It's really light, but your skin is just infused with amazing-ness when you wake up in the morning. Love it times a gazillion!!! Definitely a CLW.
So last part of my skincare regimen, is the eye cream. It's called GinZing, and as you can see, it has been awarded... bonus!!!
This eye moisturizer is used to brighten and de-puff. It is a pearly pink color that draws the light away from the eyes, instantly reducing dark circles. Bags and puffiness just vanish... HELLOOOOOO.. where has this been all my life!!!! I've been using this, and I probably should be using this during the daytime, but when I put this under my tired, baggy, ugly looking under eye area, it's like a caterpiller turning into a butterfly. The product is amazing. It's so hydrating. It has caffeine, Ginseng and Magnolia extract to brighten and wake up your eyes after a long night out on the town. Beautiful product. I'm so happy I have finally met you!!!!
I also got a couple of other samples to try. These are moisturizers that can be used during the day. The first one is a basic moisturizer with SPF 25. It's called A Perfect World.
I've tried this underneath my Laura Mercier foundation and it really is a nice product. I love that it has SPF 25 in it. My skin is NOT hitting sunlight if I can help it. Because I'm 29 years old, it also has age-defense in it. Ewwww.. I hate that I'm getting old and need this stuff *tears* This is a moisturizer that is a little heavier. It takes a minute to dry because it's really creamy, but wonderful! A great basic moisturizer to use during the day. Thumbs up!
Since I watch tiffanyd and love her recommendations, I wanted to try the tinted daytime moisturizer called VitaZing SPF 15.
Tiffanyd raves about this moisturizer. This is her #1. Since I have found such awesome make up products that she has reviewed, I wanted to give this a try. This moisturizer is a really nice moisturizer, but I found that because I wear Laura Mercier's Silk foundation, this tinted moisturizer defeats the purpose of the foundation. I would absolutely use this product on a weekend when I'm home and don't want to put on make up. It give a really nice tint. It actually comes out white, but then adapts to your skin perfectly. It feels really nice and light on my skin too, which is a bonus, because I don't like the feeling of goop on my skin all day long, other than my LM foundation. I definitely recommend this to people who want a great tinted moisturizer with SPF to be used alone or with a little dust of powder. This foundation also has light coverage, so don't expect to look flawless, expect to look glow-y and hydrated!
So, even though these products are all full size of the samples I got, I am so impressed with Origins that when I finish up my skincare line, I would full out, like to switch to this line. I absolutely heart natural and organic products. I feel good about them soaking into my pores and running through my bodily fluids, rather than harsh chemicals that's going to do who-knows-what to my body right? Fistpump to nature for giving us skincare that's healthy for us!!
Also.. oh-my-gosh, I totally forgot. Origins delivers for FREE, even samples!!! If you want to try out there products but are unsure if you want to purchase the whole product, all you do is call your nearest Origins (for me, it's yorkdale) and they will deliver it for no cost... yes... samples too!!! The Yorkdale location also offers a free full out facial, so that you can see what it's like on your skin before you buy it. All you do is call the Origins place and set up a free facial. You don't even have to purchase any products if you don't want to. I couldn't believe it!!! My skincare angel promised me. In fact, I think I may actually call her first thing tomorrow and make a FREE facial appointment. Hello Amazing-ness??? I think so!!!!
If you have tried any products from Origins, comment below and tell me!!!! You can also comment or ask me anything at www.formspring.com/colbyavery
I really want to know what all you readers think!!!

Love you all to pieces!!

My First LUSH Experience!
Happy yucky rainy morning everyone :(
I am not happy about the rain AGAIN today! Frig..it has been raining almost everyday now. Yes yes, I know April showers bring May flowers...but seriously, when you have a puppy like mine who likes to come in from outdoors and runs to your freshly clean floors with wet paws... you will think again about this rain business! Puppy and I fight about drying his paws, he used to be so good at letting me do it, now, I'm lucky if I can get one paw dry.
On a brighter note... I FINALLY went to LUSH!!!! I have never been there before, never tried their products... I'm pretty sure I went around the store smelling everything. I had the best experience when I walked in because the sales girl showed me everything! I think I was in there for close to an hour. When I left the store, I just wanted to go back in just to smell all the yummy scents...lol
Here is what I got:
Ooops... and this too
So I have been using the LUSH products for about a week now, so in the pics, they aren't fresh, they are used because I wanted to review them, so I had to use them right??? LOL...
Anyhow, So the first one I will talk about is the Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter. Here is a pic of what it started out like.
And here is a pic of what it looks like after about 3 uses
So what this product is, is a body scrub and moisturzer combined. This is by far, such an amazing purchase. I really really really LOVE this! It smells incredible. It is all natural. Ground almonds shells exfoliate and gets rid of dead skin cells and almond butter to moisturize. You just apply it directly to your skin while you shower and it just makes your body so soft. Since I have sensitive skin, I was hesitant, but after using this, it didn't irritate my skin at all. Big Bonus!! I also bought the LUSH tin, to store this item so it doesn't mess up my shower because as any bar, it melts as you use it.
So with the Aqua Mirabilis, I bought the tin that went with it. If you buy 2 of these body scrubs, you get the tin for free, otherwise it's like $3.50. I definitely recommend getting the tin, because you don't want your shower to be yucky right? This little tin is so cute too!!
I also got this Bubble Bar in Cassis Absolute.
This smells amazing!!! This bubble bar is giant, so as everyone says, break it off as you use it, because you only need the tiniest amount. You can see a part that I broke off in the pic above. So what you do, is just take that broken off part and put it in your bath as you are filling the tub with water. It has blackcurrent bubbles that have the most incredible aroma. This pink one is a comforting bubble bar. It helps you relax, the bubbles are super soft on your skin, and it give amazing love to your skin. It doesn't dry it out, it moisturizes, it does everything you want it to, plus it's pink, so that totally won me over!!! This bubble bar is apparently their best seller and I can see why. Thumbs up for this, love love love it!!!
Now... this next pick was ok. I was wow'd in the store, but when I came home, I have been finding that I am not really using this, but it is still... a great product. It is a massage bar in Mange Too
Apparently this is totally edible. It smells like white chocolate, honey and banana. I loved the smell in the store, but when I got home and tried this on my whole body, BF hated the smell and made him feel sick. So... how am I going to use this if it makes him feel like he's going to puke :( What this is, is a massage bar or as I have been using it, an after shower moisture bar. So, you rub this on your body, like for instance, your arms, legs, back, tummy, chest, anywhere you want some moisturization. The warmth on your skin melts this into liquid for better application. This just fills your body with moisture. It's very soothing on the skin and also absorbs completely so you don't feel like you are walking around "oiled". I have to admit though, the first time I used way too much, and felt like it took forever for this to absorb. So I have been using just a little after the shower, and I found that worked much better! Like this, but not sure I would get this scent again since BF doestn' like it. I don't want to repell him...lol
I also got this amazing mask. This is actually my favorite purchase!
This is called Brazed Honey. This mask is made from all fresh ingredients, so it has an expiration date of like 2 weeks. You also have to keep this in the refridgerator because of the fresh ingredients. This is $5, and well worth it. I have already gotten 3 masks out of this and look how much is left. You only need to purchase a small one of these because remember... they expire after 2 weeks. The girl recommended I use this Brazed Honey clay mask because I have combination skin. This is so hydrating, and feels amazing on my face. I applied it, and left it on for like 20 min (I think it only says leave on for 10 min...oops) but seriously, this hardens on your face and when you wash it off, massage your skin gently and it exfoliates too... BONUS!!!This is my FAVORITE purchase, and I will be buying this again!!! Also, because it's in the refridgerator, it's also very cooling on the skin. It also smells so fresh!
LUSH sales reps also gave me some freebies to try.
The large one on the left is actually a deodorant bar. I haven't tried this, but I will and I will report back. I'm a bit weird with trying natural deodorants. I don't know, I will have to try it on the weekend when I'm home, so that if I do end up smelling, I can quickly hop in the shower and then use my normal deodorant that I know... works! I also got a little soap and something else that I dont' know what it is. I will have to research online to find out. I will try these this week sometime. I always love freebies, such a good way to promote store items that you wouldn't necessarily try.
So with that said... I'm VERY happy that I tried LUSH. I can honestly say that I am addicted to it. I love how everything is natural. I'm dying to try their shampoo because I heard such amazing reviews about it. Some of their stuff can be a little pricey, but most of it is affordable which I am very pleased with.
Do you have any favorite LUSH products that are your CLW's? Comment below and tell me or visit my www.formspring.com/colbyavery and tell me.
Also, I want to welcome any new visitors to my blog site. I appreicate you taking the time to read my blogs.

A Pretty Perfect Exfoliation Product
Happy Friday Everyone!!!
Finally! The weekend is here. I can actually rest my eyes for a bit now without having to worry about getting all dolled up. Pink Eye Update: I thought the pink eye would have gone away by now but it's still red as ever. I know it's only been a couple of days but honestly, I'm so sick of this. My eyes just have a raw feeling and all I feel like doing is sleeping it off, along with my sore and achy throat. Apparently pink eye and a sore throat go hand in hand. I'm already developing a scratchy voice. Being sick is just annoying more than anything, so I'm just going to shake off this sore throat and hope by drinking lots of fluids, it will pass sooner rather than later.
ok! So after my serious post from yesterday, it's time to lighten things up and bring us back to an excellent beauty review from... moi!
Today I want to tell you about Clinique's 7 Day Scrub. O.M.G, is this ever a CLW product!! Since I have spent a few days at my mom's house looking after her fur-babies, I have used this once or twice in the shower to exfoliate my face. This is incredible! The beads are super fine and just makes your skin glow. It gives you that "just had a super awesome facial" feeling without the price of a facial. It's also a beauty award winner, so that always sells me too..lol
I don't know why ipad doesn't let you upload a photo but I'm going to have to edit this post later on the laptop when I get home so you can see what it looks like. update: I managed to get to my laptop, so here is the pic...
I would recommend this product to use once a week since it really scrubs those dead skin cells away and leaves skin super amazing. I wouldn't do it anymore than that. You don't want to irritate your skin more than you have to. I also love this product because I have sensitive skin and this didn't irritate it at all. It's also a bit creamy and really gets rid of those blackheads that are hard to reach. That's a major selling point for me because I get blackheads and ewww! Who wants to be talking to someone and all you can see is those gross black dots all over their nose!?! Whether you try this product or not, please... everyone invest in something or squeeze those babies out. lol
I would definitely recommend next time you are at The Bay, Sears, Sephora, try and see if you can pick up a sample of this product because we all need (men included) a good scrub for that baby bum, super soft feeling where you can't stop touching your face because it feels THAT silky. Who doesn't wan† glowing and baby bum soft skin???
I'm also so happy it's sunny outside today. Next week I'm hoping to make it downtown Toronto to the Eaton Center. I want to use my gift card from Victoria Secret and get the Barely Bronze self tanner. I heard it is amazing! I have tried their "Barely Bronze Gradual Tan" and it was perfection! So with that said, I'm uber pumped to try the self tanner. Apparently my all time favorite VS model, Marissa Miller wears it and since she I have the biggest "girl crush" on her, I would try any product that would get me THAT MUCH CLOSER to looking like her, especially the amazing tan she has. Can't wait to try it. I will report as soon as I get my tan on.
I am also going to pick up NARS "orgasm" blush. I have heard non-stop crazy, awesome reviews about this blush that I NEED to try it out for myself. It's a peachy-pink color and from the Beauty Guru's on the web, they swear by it. Again, when I get home, I will post a pic because you need to see it for yourself..GORGEOUS COLOR!
It also comes in "super orgasm" which has a more shimmer so I def wouldn't mind trying that, because I like to wear more glimmer on nights out on the town.
NARS hasn't disappointed me so far, their bronzer in "laguna" has become my CLW and I think I've only used the NARS bronzer and no other since I've gotten it. Love it!!!
I hope you all enjoy your friday. Hopefully I can post tomorrow if I'm not too swamped with stuff. I am hoping to have a closet purge. I have so many clothes that don't fit me and I just don't wear anymore. So I'm going to fill up a few bags and send it off to a clothing donation. I'm also going to try and download some new tunes on the ipod. I love some good running music that keeps me pumped becasue I'm getting back to the gym (hopefully tomorrow) so I will need some upbeat tunes to get me moving. If you know any good music that gets you super pumped to workout, email me, or let me know on my formspring page at www.formspring.com/colbyavery
Big hugs and kisses,
xoxo

A shopping delight and 20x the points!
Friends!!
I know this is my 2nd post today but I felt I needed to update you on my lovely and exciting purchases today. Since the BF is gone away for the night for a boys night with lots of fun hockey, poker, darts and yess.. beer, I thought "I deserve to have a luxurious and relaxing girlie night". I have to wake up at 6am tomorrow (sunday..uuuggggghhh!!) so I thought pampering myself is just what the beauty doctor ordered.
After work I made my way to Shoppers Drug Mart to see what I could find. Here are my finds...

I have to wake up at 6am tomorrow (sunday..uuuggggghhh!!) so I thought pampering myself is just what the beauty doctor ordered.
After work I made my way to Shoppers Drug Mart to see what I could find. Here are my finds...
Left - Marcell Essentials Clay Mask
Middle - La Roche Posay Active C day/night moisturizer
Right - Blistex Fruit Smoothies
The sales lady actually recommended the Marcelle line for clay mask. I wanted something hardening to draw out impurities and gross-ness from my pores without an expensive price. This marcelle essentials mask was $14.00. I just tried it and I love it!!! It's not thick, but it hardens and tightens skin like no other. I really give this mask a thumbs up because it rinses off easily and you just leave it on for 10 min to harden. I'm excited to give this a go once a week for sure!
My second purchase was the La Roche Posay Active C day/night moisturizer. I love the La Roche posay line. I have their gel face wash and I love it. It works amazing if you have blemished skin and break out like I do (wish I had better skin..sigh!). I tried this tonight after I put on my Biodroga AHA serum and it feels amazing on my freshly cleansed skin. This is ONLY for the face, not the eyes. I really love this moisturizer. It's light but you can feel it infusing your skin with moisture and hydration. My mom uses this line and I've always wanted to try it. The best part of the day is when the cashier told me this moisturizer is on sale for $15 off the original price.. pardon me?? Best news ever! This moisturizer is originally $47.00 and I got it for $32.00. I love savings!!! The Active C line is for anti-aging. Since I'm 29 years old, I'm starting to notice changes in my skin, fine lines and stuff, so this will hopefully slow down the aging process... *praying* I always like to give products 1 month of bonding time before I commit to the relationship or I just toss it to the curb...lol.. I mean, you HAVE to have a lasting and committed relationship with your skin for it to treat you right back!
Finally, I got the Blistex Fruit Smoothie lip chap. This is a favorite of Audrina Patridge from The Hills as per her blog. I tried all of them tonight and all I can say is...YUM!!! these have the most yummy flavors and yet it very soothing to the lips. I can already tell that these lip chaps are going to be a sacred product for me.. thank you Audrina for introducing me!!!
All in all, I have been having such a great night! I also got 20 times the points on my points card, so now I have $10 free to spend on my next purchase!!!! I think I might invest in an electic toothbrush. I've always wanted one... LOL..So now, I have my glass of wine, my skin is glowing with awesome-ness and all I have yet to do before bed, is self-tan and put on my eye cream. I watched "The Devil Wears Prada" tonight.. Gosh... I love that show!
Soon I will be heading to bed. 6am comes quickly. I think I will let puppy sleep on the bed with me tonight. I always get so freaked out being home alone...Hopefully the BF is having a blast with the boys and I will see him tomorrow after work. We are going over to his brother's to see his new Jeep... I'm so excited, getting a new car is always a good feeling, especially if it's a car you really want. It's so fullfilling to actually be able to get it. I'm really pumped to see it!
Nighty night luvies :)

Smooth Skincare and Anti-wrinkles defense!
So now that I've reached the dreadful year of turning 29. I'm starting to worry about my skin. I have STOPPED all tanning use in the tanning salons. It is awful for your skin.. sorry tanners, but it is. I wish that I stopped using tanning beds back in my early 20s because now that I'm 29, I'm already starting to see the first signs of fine lines and wrinkles... eeeeeekkksss times a million!
I was out getting my hair done this past saturday and I thought I would head next door to The Facial Place Spa. I have loved the tinted moisturizer from the Puran line, so I asked the receptionist what she recommended. Seriously, this girl has the most glow-y skin ever. Plus she knows me over the years so she knew exactly what I wanted.
I told her I still have some moisturizer left to use and I wanted something that would even out my skin and make my skin smoother, also to allow my make-up to melt into my skin, rather than having it look all cake-y and disgusting. My make-up and skin need better bonding time...LOL
Anyhow, she recommended this product.. again from Biodroga
She said that this would be a good starting product. Here is a little burb of what it is:
Biodroga Face Pre Care w/AHA Description
Exceptional facial care with Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). High-concentration AHA obtained from sugar cane diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and helps reduce age spots. Simultaneously, AHA can improve skin texture and increase skin moisture levels. Result: skin gains elasticity, looks firmer, younger and significantly refined.
I've been using it since sunday so I've noticed a bit of smoothing so far, but I'm going to give it a good month before I accept or reject this product. You are supposed to use it morning and night under your moisturizer.. and not under the eye area because of the Alpha Hydroxy Acid.
So we will see...
HEALTH ALERT: I'm decreasing the amount of coffee intake each day now. I only allow myself one cup of coffee in the morning, then I indulge in green tea for the rest of the day. I'm trying to hard to like water (I love pop and juice) so I'm also trying to give water more of a chance because it's so healthy for your body. I am also trying to take vitamins each day now. Lots of B vitamins for hair and skin, but also a multi-vitamin for a little bit of everything! Oh.. and also trying to get a good nights sleep.. trying for at least 7 hours, hoping to train my body to want 8.. I think with 8 I will feel more re-freshed.
I hate getting old.. Sometimes I wish I was young again and full of countless energy... ahhhhhh! Speaking of energy, I'm on nights again this week, so I'm headed to grannyville for an afternoon nap.. love it! maybe there are positives to getting older.
Happy rest of the day luvies!
