Things I failed to blog (beauty-related)

Remember before I told you that I still have alot of things I need to blog and promised that I will do a  blog post about them really soon. Guess what, I failed! I tried, but I couldn’t find time to blog everything (one at a time). So I decided to do a group review. However, I can’t give you a comprehensive on all the products. Nevertheless, If you want me to do a thorough review on some products in this post, just leave a comment so I would know what are the products you are most interested with. (you can also tweet and messaged me on facebook)

PRIMERS:

Dr.Oil Solution Anti-Shine Dual Primer – Price: 498 – I don’t like it. It doesn’t do anything on my face.

The Body Shop Skin Primer Matte It – Price: ?? – Great primer especially if you have dry skin. But it works for people with oily skin too (or combi). Oil control is great but not superb. Amazing primer if you have flaky/dry skin, makes makeup glides easily with it. Yet, it’s quite pricey for the amount of product that I was able to get. Nevertheless, I still love it. It’s my saviour. I have a combination skin, (oily on tzone and really flaky on cheeks) and I use this on my cheeks to smoothens that surface for better makeup application.

Faceshop Pore Minimizer Cover-up – Price: ?? – Pricey for something that does nothing special. Hard to apply on face due to thick consistency.  Though it works for filling up the fine lines and pores.

Nyx HD Studio Photogenic Primer- Price: Php 650 – AMAZING! SUPERB IN OIL CONTROL!!!!! A must buy for people with oily skin (and combination). Brightens up complexion due to its color (white). The consistency is rather liquidy. However, make sure that your face is totally dry when you apply this or else, you’ll find it hard to blend it on your face.

FOUNDATIONS
Fanny Serrano Two way cake foundation in Organza - Php 399 - I haven't tried it enough yet to do a review. But the staying power is decent and coverage is good.
Faceshop Phytogenic Infinite Foundation - Good foundation. Quite expensive, though. One pot wouldn't last a month if used for everyday.

LIPSTICKS
Covergirl Lip Perfection in Heavenly - Php 395 - The formulation is good. It doesn't make my lips dry but lasts really long. The shade is definitely not nude as described in other reviews. It is slightly brighter (pinkier) than Nyx Tea Rose. However, it does oxidize on me.

Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick in Coral Pink - Php 299 - The formulation is average for lipstick, not drying and good pigmentation. The shade is pretty, great for everyday.

Etude House Look at my lips in 10 - Price: I forgot again. It's around Php 300- is a nude lipstick with peach undertone. The pigmentation is quite sheer, it doesn't makes my lips dry but do not lasts long.

LIPBALMS
Venus and Mars Lip Butter Tints in Wine Pearl - Php 180 - very moisturizing, nice shade. Great lip tint. People who hates lipstick (drying) will love this.

Mary Kay Lip Balm in Mango - Php 600 (something) - EXPENSIVE! And not moisturizing. The shade is pretty but I don't like the formulation. It accentuates the cracks and lines on my lips. The smell and color are nice, though.

Nivea Soft Rose Lip Balm - less than Php 100 - another disappointment! i don't like it, not moisturizing.

LIPLINER AND GLOSSES

Etude House Soft Touch Automatic Lip Liner - no need to sharpen. Affordable. The shade I got is very close to my lipcolor, thus, appears nothing on my lips. Staying power is so so.

Wet n Wild Lip Liner - I love the formula. Very Affordable, one pencil will lasts me forever. Glides smoothly on lips.

Avon Lip liner and color - Great formulation, great staying power.

Careline Lipgloss - the best among all the most affordable lipglosses. I love it. great pigmentation, staying power, all! Who says you can't have the best of both worlds?

BLUSHES

Avon True Color Blush in Rose Lustre –Great blush!! Color is pretty. It’s pigmented. Good staying power. Not chalky.

In2it Blush in CW 03 Sensation- The color is beautiful! It’s a peachy shade on me. Good pigmentation. Average staying power. Not chalky.

Sansan Mousse Blush in Rosy Blush – I apply this before my Ever Bilena blush and it’s gorgeous! gREat staying power when use alone (set with powder) or use as base for blush.

Elf Blush in Peachykeen- Php 250- the shade is to die for. But it doesn’t appear pretty on my cheeks!!! Seriously, it’s like a shimmers with gold (not gold with shimmer lol) on my cheeks. Very chalky and staying power is average.

Prestige Blush – the shade is beautiful (pinky coral). Staying power is great and not chalky. It is pigmented enough.

Ever Bilena Blush in Honest - Php 150- the packaging looks good. The blush is really pretty (coral). The staying power is great. Overall, I highly recommend it

EverBilena in Pink Petal - I don't like the twist-up packaging. The blush is pretty but not as pigmented as EB Blush in Honest.

Elf Blush in Glow - Php 120- the color is gorgeous, a coral blush with gold shimmers. However, the packaging is very cheap, the powder is not as pigmented as I want it to be, it is very chalky too. I wouldn't repurchase again.

Eyebrow Pencil and kits

Elf Eyebrow Kit in Light, medium, dark - Php250 each - good buy. Comes in 3 shades, quite affordable. The packaging is cute and handy. Stays until the end of the day. The wax in the kit is good enough, the powder is pretty chalky.

Modelco Designer Eyebrow Kit - Php 1400 - expensive. Comes with 4 stencils (very fine, fine, natural and full), 2 angled brushes, spoolie and tweezer. The wax is really good. The powder is pretty chalky. The angled brushes are perfect for filling the hairs, spoolie is small but useful and the tweezer is good. Overall, a great eyebrow kit but overpriced (for me!)

Etude House Easy Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown- I love eyebrow pencils from Etude House. It works really well on me. This one is a pointed eyebrow pencil, you need to sharpen it. Dual ended. Comes with a brush. The shade is not really dark brown. It's lighter brown, perfect for people with black hairs but wanted a lighter eyebrow.

MASCARA

The Faceshop Extreme Volume Mascara - my HG non-waterproof mascara. The only mascara I used for everyday. It doesn't smudge on me but can be removed with soap and water. It doesn't give me a panda eyes when I accidentally rubbed it off my eyes. I like it so much

Revlon Beyond Natural Mascara - good waterproof mascara. It does lengthens my eyelashes. Hard to remove, though. Perfect for special occasions. The applicator is easy to use for upper and lower lashes.

Gel Liner

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Gel Liner - Php400 something - I got mine on sale (Php 314). The gel liner is as creamy as Mac Blacktrack. The brush that comes in the liner is pretty good, but I use angled brush since it's alot easier to use. It doesn't last forever on my eyes but lasts longer when sets with black eyeshadow.

Mac Fluidline in Blacktrack -Here is my first review on Mac Fluidlne. Yes, it smudges like it's crumbling. It doesn't lasts long when use alone (lasts longer when sets with black eyeshadow). However, I had this for a year now and I can still use it! Amazing, right? It's expensive but really worth it!

Liquid Liners

Tony Moly Easy Touch Brush Liner - Php 458One of my biggest disappointments this year. I was looking for a waterproof eyeliner. The SA recommended this to me so I purchased it. And yes, the hell, it's non-waterproof. It's quite pricey for my taste.  I used it once and never ever used it again. What a waste of money. When it dries, the color turns to be gray rather than black.

Fanny Serrano Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner - Php 198 - the cheapest felt tip liquid liner I had. It does stays long on my eyes, but not forever. Can be easily removed with soap and water. Great liquid liner for the price (really).

Eyeshadow Palettes

Clinique - The purple is gorgeous, (perfect for everyday, work/school and even occasions). The definer (dark brown) is perfect as crease color. The dual ended brush is decent for touch ups.

Avon  Quad  - Another gorgeous color combi in a palette. The colors are quite pigmented and not chalky. The packaging is identical to the blush.

Avon Quad - great for everyday and work. I love all the colors, honestly.

Nyx Glitter Cream Palette - I got it for free when I won a giveaway from this store. The first three colors are really beautiful, but the two colors, does not appear really well on me.

Almay Quad-  favorite quad among the rest. The 1st color is gorgeous as highlighter or if you want to brightens up areas of your eyes (or even face).

Elf Quad - very pigmented. Great for smokey eye look. I don't like it though since it is very chalky.

Sk
FACIAL WASHES

D & G light Blue and Benetton Paradiso and Inferno
Benetton Paradiso and Inferno is a cheaper alternative for D & G Light Blue (has more citrus scent). However, D&G stays longer on me.

Venus and Mars La Chica
Smells really good and amazing staying power!! Seriously, you should try it.
Goody Stayput (200php plus)
Quite expensive but it is definitely a slide-proof clips.

Wishes & Kisses

Hey loves!!

I'm having the most tired day ever!!! Work was oh-so-boring today and I could barely keep my eyes open. What a drag!!! I opted to stay home from the gym because puppy isn't feeling so well and he's been having some accidents in the house so BF went to the gym and I will do some at-home stuff on my own. Whatevs...

Last night BF and I went to Shoppers Drug Mart because I had to pick up some mascara. I wanted to try something different, so I thought I would try L'Oreal's Million Lashes Mascara in Blackest Black

I put it on today and so far I really liked it.  I usually let myself try a new mascara for about a week, then rate it, but after one use, I was pleasently surprised!! I'm planning on doing a mascara review on all my favs and hates over the years so expect an upcoming post about that, probably this week sometime. I want to give my new mascara a chance before I give it an up or down on the love/hate meter.

I decided I wanted to spritz myself with purfume. I have been loving my VS Heavenly Angels body spritz and I don't think I can't ever get sick of it.. It's just beautiful people... beautiful!!!

ALTHOUGH.......

I have come across a new scent that I tried last night and not only to I HAVE to have it... The packaging is so beyond girlie that it's definitely a "display" purfume!!! LOOK!!!

It's called Daisy by Marc Jacobs... The packaging is what caught my eye first. How adorable are those daisy's on the cap?? Then, it's pink!!! my fav color. I spirtz and then I fell into heaven.... Is this what heaven smells like? I couldn't stop smelling myself.. yes, I know I'm weird.. but it's like my nose was a magnet to my wrist and every time I breathed in.. I was falling inlove over and over again. I cannot wait to get this purfume. This is a wishlist item and I dont' understand how I never discovered this scent before. It's not a fruity scent, it's kind of floral but with a sweet touch??? It's hard to describe purfumes, so you will have to go to the store and check it out.. It comes in a large and medium size. I just love it!!!

I also loved the smell of the purfume Gucci II

This one also smells amazing. I honestly think I am drawn to the pink purfumes. I can't even explain this scent to you other than forever love..... ahhhhhhhh

Another item that I'm dying to get is a watch. I've owned watches before but then I got a cell and the watch disappeared off the face of the earth in my mind. I forgot how much I love the look of them, and especially for time..lol.. I have had my eyes on this particular watch for quite some time now. Introducing... Michael Kors watch in white

Super cute??? I think so! I'm hoping to have enough saved up to buy this watch the beginning of June. I love white for the summer and it will go with pretty much everything. My purse isn't white so it won't be too matchy matchy... I used to love when everything matched, but now not so much. I think each item you are wearing should be able to have it's moment. Plus, this would look killer with a cute loose black tank, jeans and some cute cowboy boots with some killer diamond stud earrings...eeeeekkks.. so excited for this purchase. It's also oversized, almost boy-ish, so that's a super plus in my buying books!

I have mentioned this on facebook. I am so dying to get a Pandora Bracelet. I have seen numerous ones now and I'm so inlove.

What I like about this bracelt is that it looks amazing matched with your fav watch.. um..hello michael kors!!! But I want to get this braclet more for the memory side of it. I want to be able to ask for a different charm on holidays, birthdays, etc... I want this to hold beautiful memories of my life and my joys throughout life. I think every girl deserves to have their own.  Everyone's bracelet is different so even though lots of girls have this bracelet, each one is so individualized that it's pretty much a one-of-a-kind piece. It's a story of every girls life and what they hold as their keepsakes.. their memories.... their everything!

Is there any purfumes, watches, jewellery that you love or that are full of memories?? Leave me a comment below or visit my formspring page and tell me at www.formspring.com/colbyavery

I love everyone's feedback on my blog. You all are amazing and I'm so happy to have you in my life. I love the support you all show me with my blog and if it wasn't for you, I would be sitting in a slump position on my couch watching some god awful sport with BF, but now, I can sit down and write about all the girlie stuff that I love, that I crave, that I long for and BF doesn't have to hear it.. lol

me like!

Oh.. BTW.. have you seen the preview for "Something Borrowed?" movie?? I'm pretty sure I was jumping for joy. I read and have all of those books in that series and I'm super pumped to see this. Girlie night for sure!!! If anyone's interested in seeing this with me, let's do it!!!

I hope you all have a fantastic monday night.. one day closer to friday!!!

My Most Favorite Scents and Body Moisturizers

Happy Wednesday!

Just to update you on my current pink eye situation. I now have pink eye in BOTH my eyes. Last night the right eye got infected. Damn! I wasn't expecting that to happen. I filled my perscription though so I've got to put the drops in both my eyes now 4 times a day for 7 days. What a nightmare. I look like a demon. There is no white to be found anywhere in my eyes. I'm walking around wearing sunny's (sunglasses) like I'm a celebrity... LOL...One of my lovely readers, Becky, informed me that you can in fact, pass on pink eye to your pets. With that said, I have had no snuggle time with my fur-babies. I wash my hands before I feed them, pet them.. any contact that I have with them, I am sanitizing before because that's the last thing that I need, fighting with puppy or Avery to put drops in their eyes. Not fun!

Ok, so on to my post. I really wanted to share my sacred, and all time favorite scents and body mists with you, along with my CLW (can't live without) body moisturizers. Here they are....

Left - Calgon Body Mist "Marshmellow"
Back Center - Victoria Secret "Dream Angels Heavenly"
Back Right - Mark "Peony Apple"
Front Left - Britney Spears "Fantasy"
Front Right - La Senza "Berry Lovely" shimmer body mist

The above scents are my all time favs. They all have the more fruity scent that I love! The Calgon "marshmellow" and britney spears "fantasy" perfume have the marshmellow-y scent. It's so yummy. It's more of a warmer scent. Every time I spritz these, I melt with joy. They are amazing and I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves bakery scents or more of a warmer scent. These are the BF's favs.

I recently decided to try Avon's Mark product "peony apple" scent. People, if you LOVE the scent of apple, this is the scent for you. I mist this and instantly I feel refreshed. This isn't a purfume per say, more of a body mist that doesn't have an over-powering smell, so you can spritz this throughout the day. It's also small enough that you can keep it in your purse. You will love it if you love apple scents. So yum! I have been bringing this with me everywhere because it just makes me feel refreshed and happy. Plus, I have gotten some nice compliments on this. A million thumbs up for this one. Plus, I love the name "peony apple".. So cute!

La Senza's shimmer body mist I don't use that often because my day-to-day life doesn't require me to be shimmerized. I like using this product in the summer time or for weddings because it has shimmer that isn't excessive. The scent is beautiful and the light reflects the shimmer which makes you have an awesome glowy-ness when you are all dressed up. I would use this product either outside or in a giant room where you stand in the middle..lol.. Only because you don't want your clothes to be shimmery..haha.. All in all, a good product for a more glamourized look.

Ok, the last but not least, and my ALL TIME FAVORITE.. The Victoria Secret "heavenly" by the dream angles line. I got this with a gift certificate from my amazing aunt, uncle and cousins for x-mas. This scent isn't fruity, it more purfume-y, but just like the label read...heavenly! I use this everyday! Like maybe 5 times a day. I think I am obsessed with this body spray. I decided to get this body spray instead of the purfume because it's lighter. Sometimes I find with purfume, people spritz on way too much to the point that I get a headache. I love that you don't need much of this. I've had this since boxing day and I still have so much left. This body spritz is just amazing. I give 10 fingers and toes up for this spray. It has such a warm scent, and can be used for all ages. VS also has a tiny sample bottle for a 1/3 of the price. I think the giant bottle I have is like $19.99 or somewhere around there, but the little bottle I think is $7 or $8, maybe less.

Now. Moving on to my CLW body moisturizers. I have extreme sensitive skin, like gross sensitive. I can't really use shower gel because I just break out with rashes.. I know.. GROSS! Anyhow, over much testing with free samples and gifts, I have found these moisturizers aside from the perfume free, dye free ones that I have, are the best out there that melt into my skin without harsh reactions.

Left - La Senza Beauty Rush "Punchside"
Middle Top - The Healing Garden "Jasmine scent" Body Whip
Middle Bottom - Mark "Berry Cranberry" Body Butter
Right - Victoria Secret "Love Spell"

All of these moisturizers are incredible. They are scented just perfectly and I switch them up and use a different one everyday. Sometimes I find moisturizers a little heavy, so I just add a tiny bit of water to my moisturizer so I don't need very much. "The beauty Rush" and "Love Spell" I use mid-section, butt and legs, it's a little too powerful of a scent to use all over, The healing garden's "Jasmine" I use only on my legs becasue I find it give awesome moisture because my legs are incredibly dry, I mean scale-like dry. One of my bestie girls, Amanda gave this to me as a gift, so this is my second bottle of it. Love her! So I love this one on my legs and feet. The Mark "Berry Cranberry" body butter is the only one I use on my entire body. I love that the smell isn't over-powering and my skin just craves it. I also find that when I sweat at the gym, it doesn't run off my body like others do. I got this gift from BF's family and I can't get enough of it. Mark has a great line of products. Lauren Conrad is the spokes woman for that line. I don't know if she actually uses it, but the line is awesome. I recently just bough a lip gloss from Mark and I love it!

So these are my besties for moisture and scent. I love them all. If anyone has any favorites that you love, leave me a comment or visit my formspring page at www.formspring.com/colbyavery and tell me! Also, if anyone has any good products for sensitive skin that they love, please please please tell me. I'm always looking!

Alrighty, time for another dosage of drops and a rest for me. I am debating whether to go to the gym. I am getting restless that I haven't been for so long. I am however, going to take puppy for a nice walk. It's sunny, sweater weather and I need to get the mail anyway and get out of the house.

Hope everyone has a good day!

P.S if you are interested in reading my blogs daily, you should come follow me on the tab beside or subscibe to this blog by email. Again, this is a hobbie for me, and my own opinions on stuff I love, so if you don't love any of my product reviews, that's totally ok. Products for one person, maybe not be the product for another.
