Tony Moly Dr. Tony AC Control Bubble Foaming Cleanser

You probably heard of Tony Moly, especially if you’re a Korean cosmetics and skincare addict! Just few weeks ago, I received my first ever membership card from Tony Moly and I must say, it is far better than the membership card from Etude House. I did bought few products from their store, I will do a separate blog posts for each products.

For now, I would like to do a review on Tony Moly Dr. Tony AC Control Bubble Foaming Cleanser! Woo, Title palang, pang description na! LOL! Anyway, this one I didn’t get from Tony Moly Boutiques, that’s why I didn’t received extra points for this.

 Tony moly says,

A cleansing bubble foam that removes makeup, as well as impurities of the pores

The packaging is really good as it comes in a pump so it will be easier to dispense the product.  I haven’t tried anything like this before(I mean, the bubble foam as cleanser) that is why I was really excited when I first tried it out. I’m a fan of facial washes with lots of foam and bubbles in it. Maybe because I think that facial washes that form bubbles are much better in removing makeup/ dirt. (That’s just me!) Although, in reality it does not really guarantee that more bubbles equals amazing cleansing power. 

Going back to the packaging, look how cool is the pump. Have you seen anything like this before? Well, maybe you do but I haven’t. I know this is no big deal but  sometimes it is nice to see what’s inside a pump. (Duh! Of course I know there’s a spring in it, just like click pens, LOL, but I just think transparent pump looks cooler than the typical white pumps!)

Moving on the thing I’m really bad at... describing the scent. *Sniff sniff*  Oh my goodness. I can’t describe the smell. I was about to write, it smells like bubbles then I realized, “Do bubbles have scent?” But really,it reminds me alot of bubbles. It reminds me back when I still do wash my clothes during my not-so-busy days. That smell! LOL! See, this is why I hate describing smell because I don’t know if you can totally relate to me.haha! Anyway, let’s just leave that smell and keep it as simple as this, the smell is more like oceanic smell (if does makes sense) and something not really overpowering. It doesn’t smell like old granny or alcohol  or powder. So, in short, if you’re sensitive with smell, I think you can tolerate the scent of this one.

Finally, the cleansing power! It is amazing!! I seriously think that it is a great facial cleanser. I normal hate products for face that are too expensive but this really works. It will clean your face without drying it! It can remove almost 95% of my FACE makeup, excluding mascara and eyeliner. I still use a separate eye makeup remover just so you know. 

PROS:

-Comes in a pump! More convenient and hygienic

-A little goes a long way! 1-2 pumps is enough to wash my whole face with makeup

- Great cleansing power!

CONS

-Expensive(but hey, it’s a Korean brand, what do you expect. They’re always pricier compared to drugstore and local brands)

Price: Php 498.00

Would I recommend: If you are willing to spend that amount for facial wash, then, I recommend it. In fairness, atleast it is alot cheaper than TBS Natrulift Facial Wash. :)

Lioele pore clean & tightening pack

Sorry ladies. This will be another Korean post! I know, most of my past reviews are from Korean cosmetics forgive me! I’ll try to review soon a non-korean product, specifically the Mary Kay Concealer. My sister is at work today and I’m waiting for her because I want to show you how she covers her scar (due to surgery) using Mary Kay. She  recommended this product to me and so I purchase mine last July. I was thinking of posting my July haul but since it is already August, I decided not to. haha! Anyway, it does a great job in concealing my undereye circles plus it is longlasting. Watch out for that.

For now, I’ll do a review on the sample I got from Korea Cosmetics. This is only a sample pack so I couldn’t review on the long term effect of this on my skin. Nevertheless, hope this post could still be helpful for you ladies.

 The Lioele pore clean & tightening pack comes in a gray clay mask. Yes, it is a washoff mask. If you are fond of using Washoff masks and do not like messing up, try to look for a masque brush from Korean stores. I was thinking of getting one too. 

Okay, the consistency is quite good. Not too thick and can be applied evenly with ease. It has a grass / plant-like smell. 

The first thing I notice is the color of the mask. Like what I’ve said earlier, it is a gray clay mask. I’m so attracted with facial washes, masks, nose patch etc that are blacks or gray in color because “black attracts black” and I have high hopes that this will works as mask.

So I applied it on my face and leave it for 10-15 minutes. After few minutes, it started to dry and I could feel some tightening. 

 Then I waited for 15 minutes then wash the mask off on my face. At that instant, you could tell how clean your face is. It will give you an squeaky and tight feeling, but not drying on skin. In fact, when you touch your face, you could feel that it actually helps to smoothens your face and it feels soft on your skin.

Overall, I’m impressed with the mask. 1 sample pack is good for two usage.

Packaging:

 Have you tried having a good product but you couldn't bring it out and use in public places because it looks so cheap? I admit! I went through with that.  And I’m glad that I won’t be going through again because this is something you would love to show off. 

Luview is very consistent with their packaging, from the BB Cream to Powder and even Eyeshadow palette. Everything looks very expensive. For me, red and gold is just a perfect combination. It is indeed very elegant and luxurious. The packaging is very true to its name. It comes in a “crystal-like” packaging that is very sophisticated. 

 The powder has two compartments so you’ll have a separate compartment for the powder and powder puff. The powder puff that comes in the packaging is oh! So soft and good! It makes the application even easier and smoother. Plus it has this lace where you slip your hands to hold on the puff while applying the powder. I usually do a “tap-ing”  motion rather than dragging the powder puff on my face. 

Color/Texture:

The only problem with Korean products is they usually offer limited shades for powders. Most of their shades are for fair to medium skintone. I’m not sure what shade I got since I can’t read Korean but I’m pretty sure I have it in Natural Beige because I think Light beige would be way lighter than my skintone. Anyway, the powder is just right for my skintone. The powder is actually good for Asian women because it has a yellow undertone to it.

The texture is smooth and the powder is finely milled.

Coverage/Oil Control/Staying Power:

  The coverage is very sheer, looks natural and skin-like. It doesn’t cake on me; just don’t try to add too much layer because it tends to cake if you add too much . It is a perfect combination for bb cream as it sets your bb cream. It doesn’t feel heavy too.

If you like more coverage, I suggest that you use concealer first. It would be much better to conceal spots rather than using a heavy coverage foundation on your face to conceal them.  

 It mattifies your face which is perfect if you have oily-skin. The powder stays only for 4-5 hours on my face, then after that I have to retouch again.  

Would I recommend this?

Definitely! I’ve been using this everyday together with my Luview BB Cream or Skin79 BB Cream.

EM Mask Sheet Whitening Essence

This week is so far the worst week of the year for me! Aside from the fact that my cellphone (which came from the money I earned from selling mac cosmetics, sophie martin products and my allowance) was snatched the other day, I haven’t been sleeping well too for this whole week. I was awake ‘til morning to finish all my school works and to study for my prelim exams. In fact, I haven’t had enough sleep even this morning. I went to attend a seminar at UP Diliman and so I had to wake up 5 in the morning. I’m quite dizzy right now but because I promised that I’ll be posting my review this weekend, I have to keep it atleast. Pardon me, I won’t be reviewing my Luview Cosmetics because I don’t know if I could make it. I don’t want to force myself from writing for the sake of just updating you guys. Hope you’ll understand.

Anyway, I know I have to do this reviews because I was really late! My fellow Korea Cosmetics Supporters have already done their reviews on this product. Oh well, atleast I’m just a few days late. hahaha!

Oh, anyway, I’ll just give you short background with how I got this because I know it wasn’t that clear in my last post.

Elica Yu is the owner of the fan page KOREA COSMETICS. Just a month ago, she held an event/contest where she would recruit bloggers (which she called as “supporters”) who will be reviewing products from sponsors. I know you know that even before I joined the contest, I’ve been really loving Korean products and infact that's the reason why I joined the contest. I sent her my past reviews to be able to qualify in the contest. Then, everything else just happened. I was one of the 5 winners in the contest. And that’s how I got these Korean products.

Today, I will just be doing a review on the Evome Mask Sheet I received together with my Luview products. 

Evome: EM Mask Sheet Whitening Essence

Company: Evermiracle Co., Ltd.

Note: This is not available in the Philippines but you could ask KOREA COSMETICS where you could purchase them

 Description:

EM Mask Sheet Whitening Essence contain vitamin C, Tocopheryl Acetate and green tea extract, it protects and keeps the skin healthy. And component of collagen replaces rough and dry skin with elastic and transparent skin. Also, because it contains phytoncide and component of EM oil, it makes lively and healthy skin through refreshment of nature.

Tips and quick notes:

> Washoff sheets are quite cheaper compared to mask sheets. But I prefer mask sheets (a paper, cloth or tissue like cut in a face shape) for the following reasons:

1. Convenient – it comes in a pack! Plus, after applying the masks, no more washing off!

2. Not messy to apply – well, I’m pretty sure this is self explanatory ^_^

3. More hygienic! After using it, you can just throw it away.

> You can enhance the effects of your mask sheets by putting it in the fridge. Plus the cooling sensation will help you tighten your pores and makes you feel more relaxed.

>I found out that this works better when applied before doing your makeup. This will make your skin smoother.

On the product itself:

Basically, the rule for mask sheets is to use it after washing your face. Then, leave the mask on your face for 10-20 minutes. That’s the usual time but I know some who even leave it for 30 or more minutes. I don’t think it’s bad though but it will be better if the packaging will be more detailed on the directions and on how long it should be put on your face.

 The sheet mask comes in two pieces (lower part of your face and the upper). I haven’t seen two pieces mask because the usual sheet masks here are just one piece but I can consider that since not everyone have the same sizes of face right? It did not really bother me as long as the product will works for me.

After putting the face masks and taking some pictures for the sake of this review, I lie down on my bed and observed the effects on my skin.

Effects

Since I put it on fridge, I felt a cooling sensation. I just love how it feels! I felt relieved from all the stresses from school works! I just felt better. The essence in the mask was slowly absorbed by my skin. After 15-20 minutes, I removed the mask on my face. Initially, your face will look greasy and oily than usual. Don’t worry; just let your skin absorbs the essence completely. I let it dry for a while then I immediately look at my face in the mirror. Nothing really changed. My pimples are still there, obviously. But, I felt my skin was moisturized. It looks dewy and healthy. It feels smooth and soft. In short, your skin will feel better!

 I don't know if you could see the difference but you could see that this looks more dewy than the before pics

Would you recommend this for:

Oily skin? Yes! You still have to moisturize your skin even though you have oily skin. You want your skin to be clean and soft at the same time right? And you can achieve that through proper cleaning and of course, through moisturizing.

Dry Skin? Definitely! It’s a must! This will keep your skin moisturized. Do this atleast 2-3 times a week

Combination? Of course! Everyone needs to moisturize once in a while

During Cold season? Absolutely! Cold season tends to make your skin drier than usual and so, the perfect solution is to apply moisturizer and treat your skin by using facial mask sheets.

During Summer? Maybe yes maybe no. It depends. I know that some people tends to be super oily during summer and don’t want to add more greasy feeling on their faces. If you’re like that then you may skipped this product for summer,.,

LUVIEW COSMETICS from KOREA COSMETICS! Yay!

I’m so excited to do this post. I’m sure some of you are following me on twitter and you might already know this. But for the sake of my blog followers, here’s a little update. Yay!

I know I haven’t been reviewing any products except for the Faceshop Phytogenic Foundation for this month, but I promise that after I finish all my exams and things to do, I will sure make it up to you. I bought couple of things and I’m sure you’re all excited to see them on my blog.(most of them are korean products of course, but i bought couple of non korean products too).

Anyway, I joined a fan page in facebook and luckily, I was one of the chosen one. And the best part is, I will be receiving products from them for 3 months and I will be obliged to give reviews on them. I have seen bloggers who’ve already been a supporters and they do “honest” reviews. So, in short, they won’t force you to write only good things on the products.

Moving on, the other day I got a notice that my package arrived in Manila. 

I was really excited but I still have to pick it up. Too bad, the place where I’m supposed to get it is only open for Monday-Friday and the heck, I have school during that days. So, as usual, I asked my sister to pick it for me instead. And she agreed. Yay! Life is so easier with sisters like them! :)) Shoutout for my lovely and smart sister Emmeline! Yay! FaceShop: Phytogenic Infinite Foundation (Free sample only)

One thing I love about Korean stores is that they give you free samples. I don’t get why most drugstores product don’t do that. With free samples, your buyers could test the product first. They will know what products will works best for them. Sometimes, we are afraid to purchase products especially if it’s expensive because you’re wondering “what if it won’t works for me??” No matter how cheap or expensive the products, you want it to works somehow. Who wants to waste money anyway? Plus, when buyers receive free samples, they are more encouraged to go back and purchase more especially when free samples did work for them.  

Okay, so the free sample that I got is their Phytogenic Infinite Foundation in NB23.

I think they do have two shades, for fair and medium. Obviously, I’m in medium shade.

I was not expecting that the shade will suits me. I’ve tried Korean bb creams and non really fit my skin perfectly. They are either a shade lighter or 10 shades lighter (haha, okay that’s just an exaggeration). Korean are known to have fair skin and flawless skin so I understand the color selection of their bb creams. The undertone of most bb creams are beige/gray. So, when I finally tried this I was surprise on how strong the yellow undertone is. For me, that’s a big YES! I do have a yellow undertone and this shade suits me!

Since it has a strong yellow undertone, the coverage was good but still, I use concealer underneath to cover my blemishes and my super dark undereye circles.  

I was expecting that it will give me a brightening effect like those on bb creams but i was disappointed that it did not.

The consistency is quite thick and not as runny as Revlon colorstay (for dry skin). When applied on my face, it felt not as heavy as other liquid foundations but you could still feel like you’re wearing a foundation.

I’ve read in some blogs that this never cakes on them. How lucky they are. It does cake on me. It really does. But you could make it works by applying primer underneath. I would definitely not wear it alone. Oh, I forgot. The staying power is good enough. I wear it like 2 pm in school and when I went home at 9:00pm, the foundation is still there but hey, I set it with a powder.

Skinfood Gold Caviar Gift Set

The moment I got this, I knew it was true love! It’s a Korean product, it is from SKINFOOD (yes, the expensive Korean store in the Manila) and the packaging is simply irresistible!

The first thing I did when I got this is to research on the internet! Everything in the packaging is written in Korean. Maybe i should learn Korean language? Well, I’m actually learning few words from watching Korean movies/dramas and it is fun to learn their culture too. Anyway, I was surprised that the site of skinfood was written in English! Yey! I was very pleased with the site because everything looks so promising!

Okay, the set I received is from their line called Gold Caviar. It is named Gold Caviar simply because it has gold and caviar as main ingredients.

SKINFOOD TONER

A toner that softens the skin texture with gold particles that can be seen with the naked eye and with the addition of Russian caviar, it provides moisture, nutrition and resilience to the skin.

* Instruction

Take an appropriate amount on the palm of your hands after washing the face and softly absorb onto the skin through rolling according to the skin texture.

Okay, I’ll have to repeat this again! The packaging looks adorable and classy! For the packaging, I’ll give it 5/5.

When I first tried it, the first thing I notice is the consistency! It’s like a gel type toner (I’m not sure if there’s such). I poured it on my cotton and applied it on my face. It was really LOVE! You might heard me tweeting about this several times. I really like how non-drying it is! But I still love my Celeteque just so you know. I love them both. I use them for different purposes. When I feel like my face wants moisture, i reached for this as my toner.

So if you’re looking for toner that is moisturizing (toner that is moisturizing?? yes, with skinfood, it is possible!) I highly suggest that you get this. It is a bit pricey if you will buy the full size (1,200 php on ebay and more expensive in malls) but I think it is worth it. I might save my money to buy the full size or maybe, I would like to try first the collagen moistful toner from Etude House. Someone from Gtalk suggested that one. She told me that it is moisturizing toner. Korean skincare is really unique, don't they?

SKINFOOD EMULSION

Next, Emulsion. It is moisturizing too. Though, it is just a typical emulsion, just like most moisturizing cream/serum available here. I don’t hate it, just to clarify things. I just find it expensive for my taste as it does the same job as other emulsions i've tried. I love the toner in this line because this is my first time to have something as unique as that. I’m not sure if there are other toners in the market that work as great as the Gold caviar since I haven’t tried anything like this before.

Anyway, for the rate? I will give it 4.5/5. A little amount will give your skin enough moisture.

SKINFOOD COLLAGEN AMPOULE

These two babies are for the eyes ( i think?). I’ve been really doing alot of projects, reports, thesis and the likes lately so I was like an "owl". I’m wide awake during night and asleep during the day. I go to school in the afternoon. Yes, my concealer is not doing a great job these past few days. Hindi carry ang pagpuyat ko. Hahaha! So, I’m glad with having these with me. It doesn’t reduce my dark undereyes but it moisturize my eyes.

Among all the products, I might repurchased the toner. Everything in here work for me but toner is my favorite.
