Hey luvies...
I hope you all are having a super awesome day! I'm on a ridiculous work schedule these past couple of days, and I have no idea how my body is actually lasting. I am beyond exhausted and I don't even know what day it is... bad eh?? I have one more night tonight, and then I'm off for a few days and doing nothing but resting!!! BF and I are taking it easy and staying home all weekend. We are going to work on our yard and get what needs to get done... That makes me ubers happy!
So...I have been really trying to eat better. I want to eat a lot cleaner, and incorporate better foods into my diet. I am trying to follow the Dukan Diet just a little bit. I am eating protein whenever I can, and also eating more fibre as well. I feel like my body just needs to get used to a new way of eating so I don't SHOCK my system too much. That wouldn't be good :(
On my last grocery trip, here are a few things that I picked up. I really try to eat fresh meats and veggies, but I have been loving a few frozen things lately too. I usually don't do a giant grocery shop at once. I am the kind of person who likes something new everyday, so I try to buy a few things to last me a couple of days where I know I will definately eat what I bought...lol
Here is a peek inside my grocery bag...
Kashi Crackers 7 Grain...So yummy!!!!
Kashi Snack Bars - I love how crunchy they are, and you get 2 bars!
Kashi Summer Berry Granola - I put a couple of tablespoons and mix with my yogurt.
Greek Yogurt (Honey) - Greek yogurt is my FAV!! It's got a sour cream consistancy, but the honey one is a little sour, so that's why I add the Kashi Granola. I might try the vanilla flavor next time.
Look how much protein you get in Greek yogurt... That's why I love it!! So healthy
Fruit - I LOVE Nectarines and Red Plums...
Eggs - I get the large white ones.. I am trying to eat a lot more eggs for protein. Sometimes I will just boil eggs, take out the yolk and eat the whites.
Fresh Chicken - I usually always try to buy fresh chicken because I like to marinate it, but when it's on sale, I try to stock up. Protein Protein Protein!!!
Green Beans - I ALWAYS buy my green beans fresh. I don't like frozen ones even though I'm sure they have more nutrients. Green veggies are my absolute favorite :)
Sweet Potato - I adore sweet potato like no tomorrow! I'm not sure if it's healthier than regular white potatos, but I slice up the potatos, bake them in the oven.... they come out so crispy and yummy!!! MMmm
Turkey Meatballs - I really like meatballs a lot, but the turkey meatballs are definitely the healthier choice. They are goooooooood!
Well.. that's what I picked up this week so far. Again, I'm trying to incorporate lots and lots of protein into my diet as the Dukan Diet calls for, but I do have Oat Bran that I eat too (which keeps me regular I guess), and I take my vitamins and drink crazy amounts of water!!
I have also been incorporating Coconut water into my diet. It's supposed to be really really good for you! I have a bottle of it after every workout, whether I'm at the gym, or doing a hot yoga class. It's my go-to drink after my workout is done. It's so hydrating, and also curves my appetite too. It's sweet, so it also quenches my sweet cravings too...BONUS!!! The only thing I don't like about it, is the chunks of coconut floating in it. I usually try to drain those things out, because otherwise it's like I'm drinking a beverage with chunks in it.. blah!
If you haven't tried coconut water... you MUST!!! It's soooo good for your hair, skin and nails too!!!
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should pick up at my next grocery shop? I am trying to eat clean, with one cheat meal per week.
