Hey all :)
I have been on a super cheap budget lately. I have been really trying to stay away from the malls. I don't have much 'new' purchases to share with you lately, but I definitely will over the next week, so stay tuned!!!
Before I do my post on What's in my Grocery Bag, I wanted to share with everyone this pretty, and super easy and cute, hairstyle that a girlfriend and I came across a couple of weekends ago. It's called The Sock Bun!!! I HAD to try this out because I couldn't believe that you actually use a sock to make this look.
Take a peek...
I even like this 'do' better than my Super High Messy Bun I posted about before.
So.. here is how you do it. I wish I could have done an actual YouTube tutorial on it, but my camera isn't being very friendly with me lately, and my iphone won't stay put... so I hope you guys understand the way I explain it... For those of you who have never heard about this sock bun... It's ubers easy... and way too cute!!! It's perfect for those greasy hair days, or even if you are going out, it's formal enough!! :)
1. First.. find an old tube sock (I stole one from BF).
2. Cute the foot part out of it so you are left with just the tub part like this...
3. Next, tie up your hair in a high ponytail, or whatever height you want the bun to be at. I usually do mine super high so it sits on the crown of my head.
4. Take your ponytail and put it through the middle of the sock tube and let your hair "fountain" out of the top of the tube.
5. At the top where your hair "fountains" over, start to roll the top of the tube sock down toward your scalp, rolling outwards.
6. Keep rolling the bun outwards all the way down to the head. Believe it or not, the bun WILL stay on it's own. I couldn't believe it!! lol... Also, just adjust if you can see the sock (you shouldn't) but just in case you do.
I did mine a little more messy, but if you are going out somewhere more formal and you have NO time to do your hair... this works wonders!! Just pop on some super fancy earrings and you're set!
Anyhow, sorry if my explanation isn't the best, but if you don't understand what I'm talking about, just googled it, or I'm sure there are some YT videos available.
If you do understand, definitely try it!! I have done it a couple of times now.. and I always get the nicest compliments... Thank you miss stranger for teaching me how to do this.... and to think... I have a sock in my hair and no one will ever know :) LOL
Has anyone tried this look? Have you heard about it? Love it....Hate it? Comment below and give me your thoughts.
Have a good night and big hugs to everyone!! :)
xoxo
Mel
