Hey everyone!
Sorry, I haven't had a chance to do any blogging this weekend because I have been super crazy busy!!! I hope everyone had a supurb and relaxing weekend. The weather is beyond amazing out, so BF and I have been taking puppy over to the water for a swim. He LOVES the water, but it also helps to cool him off during the hot days. His coat is super thick because he's a golden, so letting him swim, just allows him to release some energy and also let's him have some FUN!!! Who doesn't like to splash around in the water...lol. He is now a super, swimming pup.. He's soooooo tired right now that he won't even get up for a cookie...hahaha.. This swimming business is amazing, plus puppy and I get to have some "mommy/puppy" time. Me lovie the puppy with all my heart!!!!
Here is him after I struggled to try and brush him. Isn't he adorable?? His 1st birthday is on June 13. Yesssss... I am so having a puppy party for him and baking a doggie cake...Love this poochie pie!!!
So over the weekend, BF and I did some painting. Our main hallways of our house are grey tones and we decided that the bedrooms and bathrooms are going to have bright pops of color. As you know, our downstairs powder room is painted a bright purple, so we decided that our guest bathroom upstairs is going to be a blue-y color. We picked up a couple bottles of wine, turned on the tunes and painted away. BF picked this color and look how nice it turned out...
We are going to put up some pictures or maybe a nice white medicine cabinet or something but I LOVE how nice and bright it is. Essentially this is BF's bathroom. I took over the ensuite bathroom (which I will show you when we paint that one, probably a pinky-y color because I want a super girly bathroom).
Yesterday since it was the most perfect weather ever!!!! I have an itch to start my garden out front. BF and I went driving around our neighbourhood to get some ideas of what we want to plant. We went over to our local nursery and picked up a cute and pretty plant-y flower pot thingy.
I just watered it, so that's why there is a giant puddle below. Isn't it so nice? me likey lots!!!
Since we are starting our garden, we live in a new development area so next weekened we are actually building the garden from scratch. We both want a dwarf shrub thingy (like those pointy cedar trees?), and we want some perennials and stuff that we can plant that will come up every year. I'm not a big garderner girl, so I want as little maintenance as possible.. I know that starting it out will be hectic, but afterwards, just maintenance really. They had a sale on Peony trees, so I picked up one.
I got the light pink one because it's just so frigging pretty!!!! I also want to go back and pick up a white one and maybe a dark pink one too. These are going to be planted in the front yard. I absolutely LOVE peonies. They are the most beautiful flower. I also want to get some other perennials too. What do you think would look nice with peonies? Apparently with this type of flower, they have to be planted in fall time for it too bloom for spring. I can still plant it at this time of year, but I won't see any flowers until next spring. This flower blooms from like april-june I think. Anyhow, I lovie this purchase.
Does anyone have any kind of flower that they just adore?? I need some ideas for planting my garden. I want some pretty colors that compliment each other, along with tall ones in the back, then smaller in the front. I also was thinking about putting some big and small rocks in and around the garden. What do you think? Comment below and tell me please because I have no idea what I'm doing!!!! LOL...
What did you guys do this weekend?
Anyhow, I'm on nights tonight again, so I'm off to have my morning coffee at 4pm...lol, then I have to go pick up BF and then we are hitting the gym... OH... how is everyone doing on their summer fitness plans? I am still trying to put together a video for you all, maybe in the next week or so hopefully. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten..haha
So for anyone that is not motivated... Get your lazy bum up and go out for a walk or run or dance or whatever burns those cals!!! It's summer time and you're worth it!!!
Love y'all so much...
xoxo
Mel
