Hey everyone!!
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you that commented about my post yesterday. It meant so much to me to know that other people are going through similar situations with their father. Sometimes its hard for people who have both their parents (still together) to understand what we are going through. I definitely really appreciate all your amazing and wonderful things that you have said. I hope eveyone out there (including myself) will look back at our lives, search deep within ourselves and try to make our future a happy one... Love you all so very much!!
Now...For today's post, I wanted to tell you all about my new protein powder. I hadn't planned on getting this kind, but the gym that I go to had a sale, so I thought "what the heck" and picked some up.
I have had this kind before. It is so YUM!! It is a cookie dough flavour. Now... I don't know about all of you but I am OBSESSED with cookie dough ice cream that there was no way I could grab for another kind. I know I have been liking chocolate for the month of June, but I'm almost done that container so I thought I would dip into this new one today... oh-my-gosh it is heaven!!!
This is what I use as a shaker. I plan on getting a more girlie one (like pink maybe) or a better one. This one will have to do for now.
As you can see, I just finished my shake, sorry it's ubers gross, but I think BF just got this for me at like the Dollar Store.. somewhere super cheap. I'm not sure where else this protein is sold, but for us women... anything that doesn't say "muscle gainer" is a good protein powder to get. This really fills me up. I have one everyday for breakfast, and then another one either in the afternoon when my tummy is STARVING... or I have one after I get home from the gym. I am the worst for snacking. That's how I rack up so many cals per day (when I was consuming over 3000 a day). This way, the protein shake also works like a meal replacement. It gives you everything that you need, so you aren't over-doing it with food. Seriously my friends... this totally fills your belly and its crazy healthy for you. INVEST!!! This huge jug cost me $25. It should last at least a month or two. I drink it with about a 1/4 - 1/2 cup of skim milk and the rest water. I would LOVE to drink it with just water, but I'm sorry, it's just way too watery, so a little bit of milk is good to have anyway for calcium....
For dinner tonight, I had such a tasty one... I BBQ'd some Honey Lemon Chicken Breasts from President's Choice Blue Menu (the healthy brand)
If you like lemon, this is to die for... The chicken breasts are just the perfect size. I just throw them on the BBQ and they taste delish.. If you are a vegetarian.. I also made a Lick's veggie burger that I bought on the BBQ as well, but for tomorrow's lunch. Those veggie burgers are so good.. I thought I would hate them but they are oh-so-yum!
I also picked up the most amazing salad ever!!! I had this with my chicken and O.M.G was I ever in delicious heaven.
This is a spinich salad with so much goodness on top. It has strawberries, blueberries, mandarin oranges, walnuts, yellow/red peppers and dried cranberries. Frig... you much try this. I had it with Roasted Red Pepper salad dressing. I also added a couple of extra dried cranberries that I had in because I am obsessed with those. I snack on them all the time. Sometimes having salad sucks... but look at this... how can you possibly say this terrible.. bonus is that it is super healthy for you!!!!
I also went to the gym tonight. I was so sore because I did a spinning class on Monday as well as Triceps. My muscles are aching. I had a day off from the gym yesterday because I worked a 16 hour shift between both jobs (hate those days), but I went today and I did back and biceps with a warm up of a brisk walk on the tredmill. My legs need a bit of a break, so running was not an option today.
Remember... It is important to eat healthy and in small portions throughout the day along with regular exercise. I know you all hear this everywhere, but it is so true. If you find it hard to eat in small bits, try getting that protein powder and having a shake 10-15 min BEFORE you eat your meal. Trust me.. you will notice a difference!!!!
Oh.. I need some ideas for different kinds of healthy meals. Can anyone recommend anything? Comment below and tell me.
