Happy evening folks!
It's coming to that time again....TRIM TIME!!! In the past, I have been so bad at trimming my hair because I was so afraid of the stylist taking off way too much. Does anyone share that fear? I have always been so scared because everytime I have gone to get a smidge-of-an-inch off, they cut like 2 inches...Why don't hair cutters know that a 1/4 of an inch does NOT mean 2 inches...why??? I just can't understand...lol. Maybe not every hair cutter does that but in the past, I used to just dread getting a trim.
Until a few months ago, I only got a trim like once a year...gassssssp!!! I know.. I'm terrible. I couldn't understand why my hair wouldn't grow past a certain length. I now know it's because my ends just kept splitting up and up my hair shaft until it just broke :(
I got recommended to this "Hair Fitness" place by my house that my oh-so-amazing bestie girl, Amanda recommended. They trim hair dry for $11. I usually don't care about getting it washed and blow dried because frankly... I hate having other people tug and pull at my hair. This worked out great because I didn't want to pay much and Amanda's hair looks so gorgeous and I trusted her completely.
Anyhow, my hair has been looking oh-so-fab!!! The girls there totally understood what I wanted and they actually followed through and did it perfectly. I have seen a few different girls at this place and all of them so far are great! The last girl I had told me to seriously start coming every 7 weeks for a trim and I will notice a difference. This is my 3rd time going on my new 7 week schedule and wowzie!!! I have noticed a good difference in my hair. I just get the ends dusted off, and voila!!! It is actually starting to grow out nicely without ugly and gross split ends.
I mean, I still noticed a little length off the ends, but nothing where I'm crying or anything...lol So... on that note, it is VERY important to keep getting your hair trimmed regularly, especially if you are growing it out. Mind you, every so often, it is really good to get a couple inches chopped off to really give your hair a nice, clean and healthy cut.
I also want to tell everyone about some really awesome deep conditioners that I have been using that I'm totally in love with, and are my CLW's for life!!!
Macadamia Deep Repair Mask
This mask is incredible. This is my #1. I use a little of this as my daily conditioner. I LOVE this line. This mask is really hydrating for your hair and also leaves it ubers soft and nourished. I like to mix this with either my Pureology Hydrate conditioner or with the Healing Oil from the Macadamia line. This is my thumbs up hair treatment that I have found works amazing with my hair. It also doesn't strip the color of your hair so that is a true bonus for moi...YAY!
Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment
This a great product for hair nourishment. It is non-greasy and lightweight, so it won't feel like you washed your hair in bricks..lol. I mix a pump of this with the Deep Repair Mask and love how my hair feels afterwards. I use this on my regular shampoo days. I leave this combo on my hair for like a minute, then rinse. love love loooooove this line!!!
L'Oreal Absolute Repair
Ok.. This mask is beyond incredible for damaged hair. Since I color the heck out of my blonde hair, this works wonders and keeps it super healthy. This is a protein treatment...meaning... you only need to use this product once every two weeks. This puts protein back into your hair and helps damaged hair not be so damaged...does that make sense?? lol.. I know you can't "repair" damaged hair, but you can protect it and give existing hair those nutrients that it needs. This product is exactly that!!! I highly... and I mean highly recommend this product for anyone who colors their hair, or puts any stress on their tress...haha. can't EVER live without this product in my shower.
L'Oreal Liss
This product is amazing for moisturization. I use this deep conditioner once a week and leave it on for about 5-7 min or however long it takes me to shave in the shower and soap myself clean. I never put ANY conditioner directly on my scalp, I just put this and all the products listed above from my ear length, all the way to the ends of my hair and LEAVE IT!!! You can even leave this on longer, or over night if you really wanted to and wash it out the next day. This is 100% hydrating, so afterwards your hair should feel like a million bucks ....sooooo good!!! This product is great for all hair types and also leaves it nice and shiny...YAY for shiny-ness :)
Do you girlies know any really awesome deep conditioners that I can try out? I'm pretty settled into my hair routine but it's always good to mix it up and try something new so that my hair won't get too used to something. Comment and tell me below!!!!
Big hugs & Kisses
