My New Hair Colorist Experience with Cayla

It's raining, it's pouring.....

I'm sad and happy that it's raining... I hate the rain because my hair turns to a frizz ball but.. I am loving the rain because BF and I laid out some brand new sod on our grass, so at least our water bill won't suffer!!! YAY!!!

Ok.. I HAVE to tell you about my new colorist experience. I was scared to the bone to try a new colorist. I thought I was S.O.L when it came to finding someone new who knew my hair and knew what works with it and what doesn't. I booked an appointment with this new girl, Cayla. I've heard some great stuff about her, so I thought I would give her a go. On her profile, it said she loves working with blonde tones....Perfect since I'm blonde!!

I sat there so incredibly anxious. I hate starting out with someone new because it can either go great... or smushed right to the ground. She came over and introduced herself with a warm smile on her face. I felt almost immediately comfortable with her. She had such a fun attitude and listened to exactly what I wanted. I even brought a picture to show her. I told her that I love the white-ish blonde hair with NO brassiness!!!  I also wanted some blended lowlights throughout but NOT the salt and pepper look. I wanted the colors to flow nicely.

She gave me some feedback and told her she knew exactly what I would love. Seriously... putting so much trust into a new hair colorist is just so difficult when you don't know what they are capable of.

Anyhow, we chatted thoughout the appointment. Her and I have so much in common, that our conversation flowed so nicely and we were laughing and giggling about some funny stories. I was having the best time, I had forgotten that it was our first meet and greet together. When she was done the foils, I sat under the dryer for like 15 min? then, the I got a new toner put on my hair. She said this toner had some violet in it, so that it would wipe out any brassiness that was left in my hair. I have to admit, I was getting excited to see it. The girl washed my hair and I decided to self dry because I wanted to save $20 because I knew I was going right home anyway.

When I pulled off the towel, I was sooooooo HAPPY!!! The color was gorgeous, and it was still wet...lol When I finished blow drying my hair, I felt like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I really liked it and I'm so glad that I decided to go with Cayla. She made this experience amazing and I can't wait to go back. She told me like 8-10 weeks would be a good time to do a touch up. I ran over to show her what a great job she did and that I'm ubers happy with it.

Thank you Cayla for coming into my hair life. As much as I miss my old colorist, I'm glad that she recommended you. You understand my hair issues, and even suggested vitamin and products for my blonde head of hair that I wouldn't have even thought about.

Here are a couple of pics... It was pouring yesterday and today, so I apologize if they aren't the brightest.

If you notice the top is a tiny bit darker, it's because I'm trying to blend in some lowlights throughout my hair to break up the solid blonde look. I'm also trying to go a little longer between appointments, so putting some skinny lowlights at the top, helps for it to last a couple of weeks longer so I don't have a racing stripe when my hair starts to grow out.

Anyhow, I really love it. I think she did a fantastic job. This week I'm going to get my hair trimmed too, just the ends brushed off to keep it nice and healthy. I'm trying to grow my hair a little longer and get rid of some of my layers, so Cayla told me Vitamin E works amazing. I bought some today to see if it helps at all....Hopefully!!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.. Has anyone stressed with a new hair colorist or hair stylist? If so, tell me below :)

Love you!
