My New Haircare Purchases...

The worst part about being sick, but not sick at the same time is that I am bored out of my mind. I just got back from taking puppy for a run in the park so I could enjoy some of this awesome weather outside while I drank my Starbuck tea. Side note: Starbucks has amazing green teas. I am obsessed with the Green Ginger Tea and the Zen Tea..Invention success!!!

Ok, back to my post. Recently, I have been changing up my hair routine because I have been doing the same routine for so long I can't even remember. When I was getting my hair colored a couple of weeks ago, I was asking my colorist (who is amazing btw) that I wanted to switch up my hair routine. I have been using L'Oreal shampoos and conditioners for the longest time. As much of a great product as they are, it wasn't doing what it first did when I started on that line. I desperately needed something different, and also a shampoo and conditioner that wouldn't strip the color from my hair. I also wanted to try a sulfate-free shampoo because after much research, those are by far, the best for the health of your hair.

Anyhow, Valentinos (where I get my hair done) was offering a 15% discount on all products with color service. Since they had that sale, it was my opportunity to get it at a cheaper price. Plus, it was 15 % off each item, so both my shampoo and conditioner was 30% off the total which made a huge difference. Tax is just insane these days.

After much research, I ended up splurging and bought the Pureology line. I got the Hydrate line (the purple one). It is supposed to be a vegan product. It is sulfate and paraban free, also anti-fade for colored hair like mine. I've been using it for a week and I've noticed a huge difference. I absolutely heart this line. Totally worth the splurge.

If you want to try something different and less harsh on your tresses, I would definitely recommend this product. It is a little pricey, $29 a bottle, but salons always like to promote their product line and give discounts, so keep an eye out for it. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is it has a minty smell to the conditioner. I love fruity smells, so this was just a bit of a change for me, but the minty smell isn't anything bad, it reminds me of the rosemary mint shampoo from Aveda.

On to my next purchases for my new hair routine. I bought these new products which I have never used before but read awesome reviews about and were suggested by some fellow hair obsessed friends of mine.

Left - Baby powder
Back middle - Phyto Hair Relaxing Balm
Right - TRESemme Dry Shampoo
Front - Moroccan Oil (it's the light one, so it's not as heavy like the original)

I have to admit, I have used the baby powder before. I really love it! I used to hate it but it was because I was using way too much of it. Usually on the 2nd or 3rd day, I use baby powder on my roots. It soaks up the oil a bit. You just have to blend it because otherwise you will have white-ish hair. I love white looking blonde, but too much is just granny-like.

The dry shampoo from TRESemme is ok, I use it when I'm in a hurry or I want to touch up some areas of my hair. It's not a product fav, but it's still good. I am definitely looking for another kind to try before I settle for this dry shampoo. For the ladies who are trying to go a few days between washes, this is awesome for taking away that stinky hair smell we all get (well at least I do..lol), so thumbs up for refreshing the 2nd and 3rd day hair smell.

Ok, so I was shopping at Sephora on thursday and I came across the Phyto line. I have never used any of their products before, but the lady who was giving me a demo on the Temptu Airbrushing Make-up told me that she loved this product called "Phyto Hair Relaxing Balm". It wasn't too expensive, like $24, so I thought I would try it out. It helps hair to stay moiturized while giving it a sleek, smooth blowout. I tried this when I got home that evening and I really love it!!! This product is amazing. My hair felt smooth, soft and the product didn't weight my hair down at all!!! Definitely a keeper and 2 thumbs up for this product. When I go back, I might try something else from the Phyto line. I am impressed so far!

The last product I got was on my shopping trip with my girl, Ash. She highly recommended this product to me and gave it high reviews. I HAD to try it. I only got a small little bottle because as much as I love trying new products, sometimes certain oils just don't work in my hair because I have such thin hair and lots of oils weigh my hair down. I tried this oil and it's fabulous! I use it when my hair is dry after my blowout is complete (when you put it on damp hair, I find it takes forever to dry). It gives a hair gorgeous shine and a healthy look overall. I only put this product on my ends and maybe the tiny (and I mean tiny) bit through my hair to control the fly-aways. I really love this oil. It is definietly light weight, just rub it in your hands to warm it up and distribute through. It will work magic on you as it has with me. Again, thumbs up for this product. I will definitely be purchasing it again!

If anyone can suggest a good hair line, products that they can't-live-without and would die if it was every discontinued.. Tell me!!! you can leave me a comment or visit my formspring page at www.formspring.com/colbyavery . I just set it up yesterday.

Anyhow, BF will be home soon and I've gotta go put my drops in my eye, so hope everyone has an awesome night. The leaf game is on, so BF will be pumped to watch that. I'm not really a hockey watcher, but I still cheer for the leaf's because Ryan loves them!

Love y'all
(I've always wanted to say that)
