I officially have pink eye. O.M.G it's the most gross, disgusting thing ever! Last night I went in for my night shift and a couple hours into my shift, my eye started getting irritated, itchy, watery and RED! I thought it was my allergies at first, but my eye-lid started actually hurting. Since my eye was watery, I took a tissue and blotted it, and I felt like a gooey-ness was coming out. I looked at the tissue and sure enough, yellow goop! Ewwwww times a million. Seriously, not pretty :(

The nurse told me to go to Emerg. Thankfully Emerg wasn't that busy, but since I knew a couple of the nurses there, they took me right in (love them!). The doc came in, looked at me and my goop-y-ness and instantly said " You have Conjunctivitis...aka pink eye". Frig! He said I should go home but it started to get busy on my unit so I stayed until my shift ended, but dis-infected everything! The occupational health department isn't allowing me to go into work today, but hopefully I will be ok tomorrow.
LOL.. I went to bed because I was exhausted and woke up with my eye completely crusted and felt like someone sewn my eye shut with thread. Obviously I panicked, ran to the washroom, got a face cloth and tried to blot it away. My eye eventually opened, but again, goop, goop, goop. I'm so scared to give puppy a kiss because I don't know if dogs can catch it? Weird question... I'm going to google it..lol
Anyhow, one of the doc's on my unit told me this is the season for pink eye and chicken pox. Thank goodness I already had the pocks when I was young. Could you imagine? Pink eye and chicken pox together? Hello disaster!
So I guess no gym for me today. I was actually looking forward to going. I've been slacking like crazy over the past week because my work schedule has been insane. Now I have to wait until either tomorrow, or the next day to head there. I'm at my mom's house now (looking after her cats) so I may pop in the Wii Fit she has, and at least I can get some sort of exercise. Of course, I'm going to have to disinfect like crazy today.
Anyhow, I must get my lazy butt up right now and take puppy out. He is learning how to dig and my mom will freak if she comes home to a dug up backyard. I'm going to have to take him out for a walk. Hopefully no one sees me. No make-up for today. Oh, and I have to get rid of all my eye make-up and get fresh stuff. Holy expensive-ness.
Actually it's funny, because I am looking in to trying Latisse. This girl I work with has been using it and her lashes are beyond luscious, like ridiculously beautiful. I'm glad that I got this pink eye now and now when I start the Latisse. That was would be the waste of a lifetime :(
Remember people... wash your hands!!! You never know what kind of germs are out there sticking to everything you touch. My hands are raw from washing them all night. I think an actual layer of skin has been removed.. lol
On a brighter note, here is a pic of puppy from the winter.. What a sweet boy.. love him!! He always brightens my gloomy days.
